When and whom to invite#
Margly supports team work — the owner can invite additional users to their e-shop. It's useful for:
- A marketing colleague — so they make decisions based on real margins, not guesswork.
- An accountant — view into costs, VAT check (editor can also upload invoices).
- An external consultant — you don't have to send them exports, they get direct access to the dashboard.
Invitation procedure#
Open the Team section
In the left menu click Team. The section is visible only to the owner — editor doesn't have it in the menu.
Click the invitation button
Fill in the colleague's email. Margly currently offers one role — Editor (no "Viewer" role in the invitation yet). Editor has full access to the dashboard, exports, and cost import, but doesn't see the Integrations and Billing sections (those remain for the owner only). Detail in Roles and permissions.
Margly sends the invitation by email
The colleague receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. The link is valid for 7 days, then expires.
The colleague clicks the link and logs in
- If they don't yet have a Margly account, they go through quick registration (enter email, get a one-time code, and confirm it).
- If they already have a Margly account (e.g., they work for multiple e-shops via Margly), Margly will add the invitation as new membership in your e-shop — they'll switch between e-shops in the app.
Done
The colleague sees your e-shop with the Editor role. You see them in the Team section among active members, including the date of last login.
What if the invitation didn't arrive#
- Check spam in the colleague's inbox.
- Check the address — a typo when entering = email went elsewhere. In such case cancel the invitation and send a new one to the correct address.
- In the Team → Pending invitations section you'll find the "Resend" button — Margly sends the email with the link again to the same address.
What if 7 days have passed#
The link in the invitation expires — the colleague can no longer use it. Send a new invitation using the same procedure; the original one remains in the history as expired.
Deactivating a user#
In the Team section click Deactivate next to a member. The account is not removed, it just loses access to your e-shop. You can activate it again anytime.
Ownership transfer#
The owner is tied to one email. If you want to hand over the e-shop to someone else (e.g., you are selling it), write to support@margly.io — we'll handle it manually and require confirmation from both parties.
Security and visibility#
- Editor cannot delete the e-shop, change the owner, manage the subscription, or edit billing details, integrations, and other settings — the Integrations and Billing sections are not even visible to them in the app.
- Owner in the Team section sees the date of last login for each member. If someone hasn't been around for a long time, you can deactivate them (you free up a slot in your plan).
- Margly doesn't share your billing email, address, or payment details with editors — those remain only for the owner.
What's next#
- Roles and permissions — what Editor can and cannot do exactly
- Sharing access between accounts — link with a partner company (agency, accountant) that has its own Margly account
- Plans and comparison — how many users in which plan
