What shared access is for#
The classic team invitation works if you want to add someone to your single e-shop. Sometimes, however, you need to collaborate with a company that has its own Margly account — typically:
- An agency or consultant who has their Margly with their own clients and wants to see your account too, so they can help you.
- An accounting firm with a separate account in Margly.
- Two of your companies / e-shops under different accounts that you want to switch between.
For these cases there is shared access. Instead of an email invitation that the colleague accepts and creates a new separate account, you link your accounts directly — the partner company switches into your account from their own Margly, as a guest.
How it differs from a team invitation#
| Team invitation (Editor) | Shared access (Guest) | |
|---|---|---|
| Colleague needs their own account | No (created on acceptance) | Yes — the other side must already have a Margly account |
| Who gets access | Specific email | The entire company on the other side — everyone from their team can switch in |
| Counts toward user limit | ✓ Yes | No — guests don't count toward the user limit in your plan |
| Permissions | Editor — sees Team, can write into data, import costs | Guest — sees dashboard and can write into data, but doesn't see Integrations, Team, or Billing and can't upload costs |
| Use | Your own employee | Partner company (agency, accountant) |
Procedure — grant access to a partner company#
In the Team section open the Shared access card
The owner finds it below the list of team members. Editor and guest don't see the card — sharing can be managed only by the owner.
Click the Share access button
The "Share account access" dialog opens with an email field.
Enter the email of anyone from the target company
Just any colleague of the partner company (owner, editor — anyone with an active account in that other company). Margly will find based on the email which account (= company) that person belongs to and link access at the level of the whole company — from that moment, everyone on their team can switch into your account, not just that one email.
Margly saves access and notifies the partner company
The other side receives an in-app notification and email "You got access to a new account". Your company immediately appears in their account switcher.
What the guest can and can't do#
When someone from a partner company switches into your account as a guest, they see a lighter version of your Margly — all data for analysis, but without administrative sections in the left menu.
A guest CAN:
- See the dashboard and overviews — margins, ROAS, KPIs, recommendations in the Growth Plan.
- Browse orders, customers, products, shipping, ad campaigns.
- Launch the AI Advisor and follow-up drilldowns (each launch counts toward the monthly limit of your plan).
- Edit two specific things at the product level:
- per-product VAT rate (e.g., correct a wrong value that Margly pulled from the e-shop)
- manual selling-price override (supplier discount compensation for a discounted product)
- Create, complete, and cancel action tasks in the My Tasks section.
- Export data to CSV.
- See their personal Notifications and Profile (shared across all accounts they have access to).
A guest CANNOT and doesn't see in the left menu at all:
- The Integrations section — they can't disconnect Shoptet, change ad integrations, edit the business country, currency, or VAT rate at the account level.
- The Team section — they won't see the list of your team, activity history, or invitation management.
- The Billing section — no billing details, plan, or issued invoices.
- Upload costs — PDF invoices, AI Excel, or manual cost entry are blocked for the guest.
- Delete data, delete e-shop, or transfer ownership.
- Manage shared access — can't invite another partner or remove your or another's access.
How the guest switches between accounts#
After granting access, the other side sees in their Margly an account switcher in the left menu (sidebar — next to other navigation). The switcher has two sections:
- My account — their own (home) account, where they normally belong
- Shared accounts — all accounts they have access to from other companies
With one click they switch into your account. At the top of the app a banner then appears "You are working in Your company as a guest." with a "Back to my account" button for quick return. At the same time, in the switcher they see which account is currently "Active".
Removing access#
In the Shared access card in the Team section you'll find a table of all companies you currently share access with. Each has a "Remove" button — by clicking, access is immediately revoked. The other side will no longer switch into your account and your company is removed from their switcher in Margly.
No email or other-side confirmation is needed — granting and removing is managed exclusively by your account's owner.
What you see in the "Shared accesses with you" section#
Below the Shared access card is also a "Shared accesses with you" section — a list of companies that have granted you access to their account. From this table you get into their Margly as a guest by clicking "Switch into account".
If you want to end access to a foreign account from your side (e.g., you no longer work for the given client), contact the owner of that account — only they can remove.
FAQ#
Does it cost extra?#
No. Shared access is part of all plans for free. Guests don't count toward the user limit of your plan.
Do I see the guest's invoices?#
No. The guest doesn't see any billing details of your account (address, tax ID, payment card, invoices).
What if the guest does an Advisor analysis or adds a task?#
The analysis and task count toward your monthly limit (not the home account limit of the guest), because they arose in your account. The created task stays in your My Tasks section — you, your editors, and other guests connected to your account will see it.
Can I share access from the trial?#
Yes, shared access also works in the trial (Margly runs there at the Business level). After the trial ends, the function remains available in all paid plans.
