Margly.io add-on from the Upgates marketplace#
For Upgates we have prepared the official Margly.io add-on in the Upgates marketplace. You install it with two clicks, Upgates automatically passes API credentials to Margly via a signed call, and Margly creates an account and tenant for you. No token copying, no separate registration on the website.
Procedure#
Open the add-on in the Upgates marketplace
Click Install
Upgates redirects you to login to your e-shop administration (if you are not logged in). After login you'll see the add-on detail with a permissions summary.
Approve permissions
Upgates asks whether you want to grant Margly access to read products, orders, and customers. Agree — Margly is read-only, it doesn't write to your e-shop.
After approval Upgates sends Margly a signed install payload with API credentials (token + apiUser + apiKey + apiUrl). Margly verifies the signature and stores credentials in encrypted form.
Margly automatically completes the connection
Margly:
- Creates an account and 14-day trial for you
- Detects your e-shop currency (CZK / EUR according to Upgates locale)
- Starts the first data load in the background
Within 5–30 minutes you'll see the first data in Margly (depending on catalog size).
What Margly reads from Upgates#
- Products — names, SKUs, selling prices, purchase prices (if you fill them in Upgates), VAT rates, inventory, categories
- Orders — items, discount, shipping, status (paid, canceled), date, customer
- Customers — email, name, city, company contact
Margly automatically registers Upgates webhooks during the add-on installation — I receive changes in the e-shop (new order, cancellation, price change) immediately.
Common problems#
- The add-on didn't redirect back to Margly — check your email (Margly sends you a welcome message with a login link) or open app.margly.io directly. The connection went through, the browser just lost context.
- The add-on failed during installation — try refreshing the page and running the installation again. If the error persists, write to support@margly.io with the e-shop name and a screenshot of the error.
- Data loading takes unusually long — Upgates has stricter rate limits for large catalogs. The first data load of an e-shop with 10,000+ products may take 20–30 minutes. You see the status in Margly in Integrations → Data updates.
- Missing purchase prices for products — Upgates has them as an optional field. If you don't have them, Margly won't compute margins — see the tip above.
Reinstall#
If you uninstall the add-on and within 30 days install it again, Margly recognizes the same shop by the Upgates token and links it with your original account — data isn't lost, loading resumes, and Margly stops sending reminder emails.
Uninstalling the add-on#
In the Upgates administration go to Addons → Margly.io → Uninstall. Margly immediately:
- Stops pulling new data from your e-shop
- Moves to read-only mode (you still see historical data in the app)
- Starts a 30-day data preservation window
- Sends you several reminders during this time (days 3, 7, 14, 21, and 27)
On day 31 the account and all historical data are irreversibly deleted (GDPR retention). If you reinstall the add-on by then (see Reinstall), Margly will connect you to the original account and resume loading.
If you want to delete the account sooner, write to us at support@margly.io.
